How Video Over Category Cable Works
The Z-TV system is comprised of two main components. The Z-Distribution ZHC hub and the Z-Balun. Taking the source from your facility’s head-end, the Z-Distribution ZHC hub converts the signal to travel along pins 7 and 8 of the category cable to the endpoint. There, the Z-Balun converts it back to RF to feed into your televisions. The constant communication between hub and balun allows the system to automatically manage signal amplification, attenuation, and slope.
Together, these components ensure consistent picture quality across your facility, with minimal configuration and ongoing maintenance.
