Technical Support Engineer
Z-Band Technologies is recruiting an entry level RF & IP Technical Support Engineer to complement our growing team of engineering professionals. This role is multifaceted, and you can expect to be involved in technical support including field service, pre/post sales service/support, hardware testing, repair & assembly, quality control, and network support.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support to Z-Band customers, vendors, and business partners via telephone support, emails, webinars, or in person.
- Assist in generating RF/IP Designs for commercial buildings.
- Maintains accurate records of all help desk activities using ZOHO CRM.
- Assist with preparation of information technology manuals and knowledge base documentation.
- Perform review of marketing documents for technical accuracy and clarity
- Assist in basic product assembly/builds as needed.
- Supports training of direct sales team and field representatives on Z-Band RF/IPTV/IP Video product as well as competitive RF/IPTV/IP Video products in the marketplace.
- Demonstrates the ability to carry on a professional conversation with vendors, partners and customers.
- Conduct set up and installation of multifunction devices and audiovisual equipment.
- Assist users in handling and learning desktop applications.
- Adheres to all Company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Ensure that computer hardware and software is updated and maintained properly.
- Configure and maintain in-office systems for sales demonstrations and product training.
- Other duties as assigned and required.

Job Specifications
- Minimum Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Science, IT or equivalent relevant experience.
- Desired certifications: CompTIA certifications, WCNA, CCNP or OJT equivalent.
- Excellent technical sales presentation ability and communication skills.
- Fundamental understanding of network management, data centers, network storage solutions,
- LAN/WAN/VLAN, structured cabling, enterprise data networking, security, VOIP, Fiber Optics, Cat 5e, Cat 6, 10G, xDSL, multicast/unicast, server O/S would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of RF test equipment such as Spectrum & Network Analyzers, Field Test Meters would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Basic CATV/DOCSIS principals advantageous.
- Experience in the development and implementation of acceptance test plans in customer lab environment.
- Able to prioritize, work independently, and to consistently meet commitments, objectives, and deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, sometimes extensively. (North America)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software advantageous.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a valid passport or the ability to acquire.
